Benetti Fast 125 is the one yacht to watch at Cannes Yachting Festival

Leading Italian yard Benetti plans to feature the evolving Delfino 95 and Fast 125 at Cannes Yachting Festival 11-16 September. The 29m Delfino 95 was launched earlier this year, and is the smallest of the Classic 95-116-132-145 category, while retaining the same unique properties and ocean-going style that distinguish all Benetti models.

After a first introduction in Italy the Shipyard will be officially represented in Cannes by Uriamir, one of the latest deliveries of this highly popular model.

“This displacement vessel in the Classic category has a fibreglass hull and carbon fibre superstructure”, says a Benetti spokesman. “She follows on from a series of major successes for Benetti, and retains the winning features of previous models, while also adding to them with unprecedented innovations”.

The Fast 125, represented in Cannes by Lejos³, has the additional Fast 140 in its design stream. The Fast 125 is a 38m superyacht equipped with the Azipull Carbon 65 propulsion system designed by Rolls Royce specifically for this model. It also features the D2P Displacement to Planing hull with a wave piercing bulbous bow, designed by Pierluigi Ausonio with the Azimut Benetti R&D Centre, which allows the yacht to be used in both displacement and planing mode, offering maximum comfort on board.

Benetti Fast 125’s interior

Exteriors are by Stefano Righini, and interiors by RWD. Latest Fast 125 launch is in fact Charade, sixth in the series in a remarkably short timeframe as orders pour in. “There are three possible configurations for Fast 125 models, Air, Land and Sea”, says the spokesman. “Charade is fitted with the Air option, the more contemporary of the three, which features a modern design with clean, simple lines embellished by polished metal accents.

“In fact, steel is used for the frames of the numerous works of art on board, chosen and supplied by the owner, and for the TVs and bedheads. The carpet, which is of a different colour in each setting, has a circle leitmotif, like the decorations on the glass surfaces, balustrades and shower doors. All the ceilings are clad in majilite and leather”. Cannes is followed by the Genoa Boat Show, and then Monaco Yacht Show, and of course Benetti has its principal yards nearby in Viareggio and Livorno, so the opportunity exists to see the full range offered by Italy’s No.1 builder. The ninth flagship of the Classic category, for example, the 42m Benetti Crystal 140, was launched in Viareggio late June. Introduced for the first time in 2011, her layout extends over four decks, providing accommodation for 12 people in five cabins. A full beam master suite is forward on the principal deck, giving incredible 180-degree views.

Further south at Livorno, some of the largest vessels in Benetti’s long and illustrious history are nearing completion. One due for delivery next year is for an Australian owner.
