Nike EYBL Subpoena FBI | SneakerNews.com

Scandal shook the world of college basketball as several notable coaches for big-name college programs have been charged, fired, or placed on leave for playing a role in bribing top recruits to their schools. adidas employees Jim Gatto and Merl Code have been charged and arrested for their roles in funneling funds to these students as well; both employees are current on administrative leave.

Now, as part of the FBI’s furtherance of their investigation, Nike employees, specifically of the Nike EYBL division have been subpoenaed. EYBL is focused on developing and showcasing young basketball talent, but these camps also operate as recruitment grounds to colleges that are in partnership with the brand. Nike has also released footwear inspired by the EYBL, some of which have gone on to be highly collectible items.

The EYBL is not affiliated with the NCAA, but rather the AAU. Nike has no ties to Louisville, and none of its affiliated schools have been mentioned thus far.
