A takedown version of the ever-popular React Element 87, Nike’s React Element 55 has garnered some acclaim due to its reasonable price point and recognizable cored-out midsole, but it seemingly lacks the luster of its proverbial “big brother” silhouette. However, the Swoosh Brand is hoping to inject the model with a needed shot of adrenaline via a new fashion-friendly upper style that features a nylon grid pattern. A design aesthetic originally premiered by the recent size? React Element 55s, the grid pattern now appears on a two-pack of new colorways: a sporty grey/orange and a stately dark green/black. Each shoe features a light grey grid over the entire upper, a large Swoosh that dips down into the midsole, and quick jabs of color via accented hits on the eyestay, tongue, and heel tab. The shoes are then each completed by the striking midsole that’s become the hallmark of the Swoosh Brand’s casual React footwear.
