With OTAs starting this week, Odell Beckham Jr is beginning to settle into his new home in Cleveland, and he’ll be accompanied into the next chapter in his career by some bold new footwear, as the oft-teased Nike Air Max 720 OBJ is set to release this month. Just as flamboyant, exuberant, and unique as the mercurial-but-wildly-talented wide receiver himself, Beckham’s kicks are awash in color and feature a medley of materials. A unique print that combines a tiger camo-style pattern with a heatmap-esque combination of tones appears on both the toebox and collar, while the midfoot features a volt mesh base with a crisp white overlay that veers between leather on the lateral side and suede on the medial side. Pops of pink, blue, and volt suede are dispersed through the upper, while multiple pull tabs offer further texture and the tongue features a unique branded embellishment. Down below, things are kept somewhat simple by comparison with a white plastic midsole plate, a translucent Air Max 720 cushioning unit equipped with further bold neon details, and a re-worked outsole with a pebbled tread pattern. OBJ’s new Nike shoes will also release in a yet-to-be-seen “Desert Ore” colorway that’ll likely feature a slightly more minimalistic look.
