Patta Air Jordan 7 Collection Release Date + Info

Known for their unique European sportswear stylings and compelling collaborations, Patta has grown to become one of the most respected names in the world of footwear, and now they’ve joined forces with Jordan Brand for a new capsule centered around the Air Jordan 7. Jordan Brand’s first-ever collaboration with an EU-based brand, the collection draws upon the AJ7’s original year of release, 1992, and is a loving homage to a memorable time in both sports and music. Patta’s Guillaume Schmidt and Vincent Van de Waal look back to ’92 as a cultural touchpoint of their youth thanks to the 1992 US Olympic men’s basketball team — AKA the Dream Team — and the special hip-hop music that was pumping out of speakers, so they’ve opted to draw upon that influential early ’90s energy for their Jumpman products.

The shoes themselves play off the 7’s eye-catching shape masterfully, combining light cream and dark brown tones with bold red accents and Patta branding on the midsole. Meanwhile, the apparel collection is inspired by a famous Jordan Brand clip shot in Barcelona during the Olympics that shows Michael Jordan walking past a billboard of himself. Patta’s signature branding then appears interspersed through the products by way of their logo and “Team Patta” word marks, a nod to the strong group of individuals that make up their squad. Check out Patta’s lookbook images featuring Neymar Jr below, and expect the whole collection to release on the Patta webstore and at their Amsterdam/London retail locations on May 18th.
