Russell Westbrook Asia Tour Recap + Photos

It’s a rite of passage for NBA stars to spend some time away from the gym and partake in a tour of Asia during the offseason. Not only do they get a chance to experience a different culture, they also are able to connect with their overseas fans and spread the gospel of the game. Russell Westbrook was the latest player to take the journey, as he recently participated in a seven-day tour, with stops in Shanghai, Beijing, and Tokyo.

Brodie spent time with thousands of his fans, taught hundreds of local children enrolled in the Jordan Wings program some of the finer points of the game, and found time to go shopping at well-known establishments like Sacai and United Arrows & Sons. To take his love of fashion a step further, he also spent time with both designers and design students, showing just as much love to Asia’s culture of fashion as their ever-growing affection for basketball. It wouldn’t really be a new trip without some summertime product either, and Westbrook used his goodwill mission to debut a brand-new Why Not? floral collection and a never-before-seen pair of all red Why Not Zer0.1 Lows. Take a look at some of the highlights from Russ’s trip below, and let us know how you think he, Paul George, and the rest of the Thunder will fare in the ever-shifting Western Conference this season.
