DEAN Robotically Malfunctions in Visual for "dayfly" Feat. Sulli & Rad Museum

DEAN, often referred to as the “Prince of Asian R&B,” has returned with his first visual of 2019 for his 2018 track “하루살이” (mayfly or “dayfly” in English). The new single features two of South Korea’s equally promising talents, K-Pop girl group F(x) member Sulli as well as producer, singer, and graphic artist Rad Museum. The track also features additional vocals from Daniel Caesar.

The track speaks on DEAN’s trouble with love and regret, with lyrics that depict an attempt to let go of his encounters and memories with a previous lover, while at the same time having trouble in doing so because of this person’s immense significance. The self-directed visual by Deantrbl (his alter-ego) explores much of this troubling predicament, with him effectually attempting to face his demons through depictions of destruction, random glitches of the video’s characters, as well as a robotic malfunction of himself that occurs throughout the tantalizing visual. Both Sulli and Rad Museum offer up some well-placed features on the track, with Rad Museum’s cameo helping to further encapsulate the project’s atmosphere.
