Based in Miami, Tokyo Lifestyle has created a one-of-a-kind custom “Air Flight Tokyo,” which perfectly balances stand-out features from the classic Air Flight ’89, Air Jordan 5 “Tokyo 23,” Air Jordan 3, 4, and 13. At first glance, the eye is drawn to the bright Maize colorway similar to that of the Jordan 5 “Tokyo 23,” but this is just one of many details borrowed from different Nike and Jordan Brand releases dating to as far back as 1988. Air Flight ’89
Originally released simply as the “Nike Air Flight” in 1989, the sneaker above is actually a re-release of the classic silhouette in Obsidian Blue which made its way to retailers in 2015. The main components taken here are the speckled midsole, solid outsole and visible air cushion.
Air Jordan 4
The Air Jordan 4 pictured above is the original white, cement, black colorway which released in 1989. Similar to the Air Flight ’89, the concept model has referenced the Jordan 4′s speckled midsole, outsole and air cushion. However in addition, its laces have been treated in a similar fashion, minus the lace tags.
Air Joran 5 “Tokyo 23″
Originally released in 2011 to commemorate the opening of Jordan Tokyo 23 the most notable similarity between this and the concept silhouette is the colorway — a bright Maize Yellow. Also, it’s important to note that the unique embroidered “23″ character by the heel is a nod to both Jordan himself and the borough of Shibuya, Tokyo
Air Jordan 3
Perhaps one of the most famous Air Jordan releases ever, the Air Jordan 3 originally debuted in 1988. The one photographed above however is the 2014 re-release in wolf grey, metallic silver, black and white. The details taken from this model lie in the stitching of the upper. Overall the paneling is quite similar, and the double stitching has been partially mixed into the construction.
Air Jordan 13
Dropped in 1997, the Air Jordan 13 was one of the last models worn on court by the famous Bulls player. Above is the 2013 re-release in “He Got Game” colorway of white, black and True Red. The main comparison to make here is in the dimpled leather, which has been toned down for the concept version.
