In Case You Missed It: This Week's Footwear Sleepers

Footwear releases will continue to occur at a frequent rate and honestly, it gets difficult for some of the biggest sneaker fiends to keep up with what’s dropping on a day to day basis. As the industry’s powerhouses such as Nike and adidas continue to dominate the market with signature silhouettes from popular athletes and cozy models with plush cushioning technology, we can’t forget about subtle footwear pieces that can easily go unappreciated. As a result, here’s a list of silhouettes they may have flew over your head in the midst of continuous hype.

Vans Vault OG ‘VLT White’ LX Collection

Vans stays true to tradition with this offering. Comprised of three silhouettes, the ‘VLT White’ LX Collection hosts a tonal white color theme along with premium leather construction. The Sk8-Hi, Old Skool and Authentic models pictured above all sport a red Originals license plate on their respective heel counters for the finishing touches and currently retail between $85 and $110 USD at select retailers such as Feature.

Nike Air Max BW Premium

Nike’s Air Max family is pretty large and this member is here to show off the Swoosh’s innovative Max Air Unit. Its streamlined look hosts plush cushioning for impact protection and is covered in a mix of Sail and Midnight Navy coloring throughout. This edition of the Nike Air Max BW Premium is currently available online for $120 USD.

New Balance M997 “Charcoal”

The less is more theme from New Balance continues via its M997. Known as a runner for many and an essential casual piece for some, the silhouette is done up in a mix of Charcoal and Camo coloring throughout as it rests atop of a white midsole. In addition, you’ll also find a textile camouflage pattern on the toe box for its finishing touches. The New Balance M997 “Charcoal” is currently available at select retailers such as Sneaker Politics for $230 USD.

New Balance 997 “Ice Blue”

Sticking with the New Balance trend, you’ll find the 997 silhouette receiving an “Ice Blue” makeup as well. The upper pairs Ice Blue and Grey throughout for a two-toned look. Instead of a textile toe box as seen on the aforementioned “Charcoal” edition, mesh material takes its place in a darker shade of blue. White is seen on its midsole and closed out with grey branding on lateral and medial sides as well as its tongue. The New Balance 997 “Ice Blue” is also available at Sneaker Politics for $230 USD.

Reebok Instapump Fury “Splatter”

Although Reebok may have some notable names such as Allen Iverson and Kendrick Lamar on their roster, we can’t forget some of its other models. The Reebok Instapump Fury is far from your normal sneaker silhouette. This time around the unique Instapump Fury is offered in color options of Black, Merlot or Noble Blue. In addition, each upper is treated with a splatter print for its finishing touches. The Reebok Instapump Fury “Splatter” trio is currently available online and at select Reebok Classics retailers for $160 USD.
