Hong Kong-based label Rawemotions recently dropped an exclusive selection of Hong Kong cinema homage T-shirts at its UPPERGROUND “THE SMELL OF RAW” pop-up in Bangkok, Thailand.
Aside from celebrating the 1980-90s Golden Era of Hong Kong cinema, the limited releases highlight the community of Chinese immigrants in Thailand. John Woo‘s iconic action thrillers A Better Tomorrow and The Killer were chosen because of the popularity of the films amongst overseas nationals in the country throughout the years. Both films served as box office hits when they first released and still stand as videotape rental favorites.
Rounding up the range is a T-shirt that features an evocative motif taken from iconic cult Hong Kong film Centrepiece Horror. Reserved for cinephiles, the 1982 horror classic is notoriously hard to find and offers a thrilling experience that is missing from modern films.
The T-shirts are set to release at Rawemotions “THE SMELL OF RAW” pop-up at UPPERGROUND starting May 31.
