Magnolia Pictures has released the trailer for its newest indie film, Detour. Starring Tye Sheridan, Bell Powley and Emory Cohen, the neo-noir thriller is centered around a naive law student named Harper who becomes suspicious of his stepfather after his mom is left comatose in a car accident. He befriends two grifters who advise him to take control of the situation, leaving him to decide whether to seek revenge or not. Director Christopher Smith utilizes a split-screen narrative to show various scenarios of Harper’s decisions, taking the audience through a series of twists and turns with a “Choose Your Adventure” angle.
