MTV to Transform VH1 Classic into 90s-Centric New Channel MTV Classic

When it comes to their television empire, the people over at MTV are making some bold moves this year. As MTV revealed earlier today, the trailblazing network will be adding the VH1 Classic channel to their arsenal. However, instead of keeping the original format, MTV will be flipping the channel into MTV Classic. The channel will be a nostalgic endeavor, with the channel’s programming pulled exclusively from 90’s and early 2000’s material such as Beavis and Butt-head, Total Request Live, The Real World, Laguna Beach and Daria. MTV Classic will officially begin broadcasting on August 1, the 35th anniversary of MTV’s launch. For those who tune it at the very start, you will be greeted with MTV Hour One, a reairing of the network’s initial hour of programming
