The Air Jordan 1 has been a reasonable obsession among many sneakerheads, setting a movement of designer reinterpretations by the likes of Saint Laurent Paris and many others. Jordan brand themselves are no stranger to modifying the iconic silhouette with its own transformations as well as their on-going collaboration with Off-White designer Virgil Abloh. As such, the Air Jordan 1 Moto is a total retooling that borrows inspiration from the leather-donning motorcycle subculture. The Moto features a strong pop of red on both the pull tab and webbing while the two straps offer a utilitarian alternative to a traditional lace unit. Its sleek all-black upper and ribbed leather paneling creates a subtle nod to the iconic biker jackets while staying true to MJ’s own passions with the embossed “23” on both the tongue and heel. No official release date for the blacked out pair has been announced, but the triple white Motos are already available in Asia. Stay tuned for a stateside release later this season.
