The entire Nike umbrella is much bigger than some would believe, with the imprint’s reach growing exponentially across multiple platforms: their mainline, Jordan Brand, Hurley, and, of course, Converse. And as collaborators often traverse from one sub-label to another, it’s sensible that the design teams take cues from parallel releases, some at the Boston-based HQ even harboring a quiet penchant for ambitious creations from the likes of Chitose Abe and her sacai atelier. Exemplified very obviously here, this passion takes shape in two arriving All-Star Disrupts — an interesting silhouette in its own right — as it dresses a neutral range of olive and black with structurally abstract modifications to its very form. For example, the heel counter, which is generally much more understated, now enhances its bulk with extra layers of rubber molds, its contrasting piece expanding outward with a connected salmon pink shade. You can see this same tone poke through just along the middling separation of the midsole, with details elsewhere are more so dedicated to their respective palettes. In terms of the upper, the construction is relatively simple in nod to the Chuck but the toe box s reinforced with matching but sturdier materials that replace the cap toe entirely.
