Noah Reveals Why Its Jackets Justify Their Price Tags

The creative director of New York streetwear brand Noah has put out a passionate blog post listing the rationale behind its pricing. Brendon Babenzien wrote the detailed article after being approached by a customer who quizzed him on why Noah’s jackets cost what they do. His response? An analysis of the difference between taped and non-taped seamed jackets, the importance of sourcing high-end fabrics that are built to last and his dedication to sustainability.

“We buy from reputable suppliers making high quality textiles in countries with reasonable environmental laws,” says Babenzien, who launched the label last year after leaving his role at Supreme. That means they cost more, but they contribute a bit less to environmental destruction. If this is a priority for a consumer, then there is real value there.” Putting together comprehensive list of costs and how they stack up when producing the brand’s range of outerwear, Babenzien continues to explain the importance of rejecting mindless consumerism to the customer who, he claims, takes him at his word and decides to buy the jacket in question.
