Takashi Murakami Officially Announces Closure of Bar Zingaro

Following previous notices, Takashi Murakami has now officially announced the closure of Bar Zingaro.

After seven years of business, the contemporary artist’s cafe and bar had to close its doors on March 31 this year due to the Coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic. In adherence to the health and safety guidelines set by the Tokyo Metropolitan Government, Bar Zingaro was forced to shift into a souvenir sweets store which was met by steady business from its loyal customers.

To express its gratitude to its loyal customers, Bar Zingaro and the Tonari no Zingaro souvenir shop will be re-opening for three days only as a final goodbye. Along with getting a view of the Murakami works on display, fans will be able to taste the specialty coffee and flower decorated food one last time.

Additionally, customers who visit the cafe during the special opening will receive flower coster sets and can enter raffles for Bar Zingaro specialty merchandise and memorabilia.

Bar Zingaro and the Tonari no Zingaro’s goodbye special will be on from June 20 to June 22, catch Takashi Murakami’s official announcement below.

Bar Zingaro @bar_zingaro marked the end of its seven years of business on March 31 this year. After Fuglen Coffee from Norway suddenly arrived in Shibuya as the standard bearer of the third wave of coffee, like the proverbial Kurofune (Commodore Perry’s “black ships”), Bar Zinaro opened and operated relying on their guidance all these years, from interior design to coffee brewing to training baristas. However, due to the rage of COVID-19 and the inability to operate a small store within the confines of the strict guidelines set by the Tokyo Metropolitan Government, we decided to shift our business into a souvenir sweets store. Although we had to close under these circumstances, we have had customers visiting our lowered shutters daily and have been receiving inquiries via social media and over the phone. Every day we keenly feel the support from our many customers that have come to know of us over these past seven years. We are so grateful. As a token of our gratitude to our loyal customers, we have decided to open our doors one last time, for three days only, to say our one final goodbye. We hope you’ll come and enjoy the taste of our specialty coffee, Takashi Murakami works displayed in our store, and flower-decorated food and drinks one last time. To customers who visit our cafe during this time, we will be giving out flower coster sets and holding raffles for Bar Zingaro specialty merchandise and memorabilia. Furthermore, our souvenir store Tonari no Zingaro will be specially open for these three days as well to welcome our visitors. Nakano Broadway and the Zingaro Group eagerly await your visit. Goodbye Bar Zingaro Special Opening Bar Zingaro (2FL) Tonari no Zingaro (4FL) Date: June 20 (Sat), June 21 (Sun), June 22 (Mon)

さよならBar Zingaro特別オープン 6月20日(土)21日(日)22日(月) 12:00~18:00 Bar Zingaro marked the end of its seven years of business.
